Wilderness Canoe Tripping
Cloud on Azure Lake![]() Low clouds early in the morning after we got up.. This picture was taken probably about 6:30 in the morning. Clouds are remnants left over from yesterday's light afternoon rain. We'll be packing our gear up after breakfast and paddling down the like in the direction of the photo. We did get a little wind while out there, but not much. I understand that the Native American name for Azure Lake in the local tribal language meant 'Windy Lake.' This lake, and Clearwater Lake, can both be very windy, enough that parties can be wind bound for an afternoon, or a day or longer, unable to travel.
