Indianpoint Tent Site![]() Indianpoint Campground is located on the north shore of Azure Lake not far from the west end, and has two sections to it. There are three or so tent sites in a cove east of a rocky point and another small site out at the end of the point, which is a high wooded ridge decending to near water level. Each area has it's own bear cache (a metal locker to hold food), and an outhouse. There is no connecting trail other than walking the beach, which would not be possible in higher water earlier in the season, so the point site is fairly isolated. Because the point runs north and south, it is also the only campsite on the lake system that can get sun all day. Of course, there has to be sun.... The tent sites in the cove would not have all-day sun and all other tent sites on both lakes would have only morning or afternoon sun, not both. Alison set her small tent up as far out on the end of the point as possible. John found another small flat spot a bit farther up (I'm standing beside it taking the picture) and Hank and Laurie with their larger tent were on the only other high space, which was next to the picnic table behind me. Later on, friends we met at Rainbow Campground up the lake stopped and we invited them to camp with us again last night. They ended up on the beach down near the canoes. Again, the beach wouldn't be there in higher water.
