Yukon Territory - North/Black/Liard River Canoe Trip, Watson Lake area Canoe and Kayak Outfitter ListBack to List of Lists These are all the outfitters located in the greater Watson Lake area I could find that specialize in canoe and kayak type outfitting ("hook and bullet" type hunting and fishing specialist outfitters are not included). If I missed some outfitters that you know of, let me know via this Comments link. Recommended Outfitter
Kluane Airways and Inconnu Lodge (Warren LaFave, owner) Has equipment for rent, and has a DeHaviland Beaver to fly you in with. Can also supply you with some river info, as well as on other runs in the area. Also has a new listing on the Kluane Airways portion of the Web site that says they're running guided trips on the North/Black/Liard starting at Fire Lake. Check it out at: http://www.inconnulodge.com/kluaneair/canoeing.htm
Other Possibilities
Northern Lights Air (used to be Watson Lake Flying Service) I also saw advertised somewhere a big game outfitter with a Watson Lake P.O. address who claims to do moose hunts from a canoe and might be able to rent some equipment. Would surprise me if they did, though, and the boat is probably a motorized freighter. No phone number was given. A list of the Whitehorse based paddling outfitters I've found is on the Big Salmon/Yukon trip Outfitter Page. Whitehorse is 270 miles (435 km) west of Watson Lake, but you might be able to rent equipment from one of them, or even show enough money to one to convince them to guide you down this river system. Good luck. Back to previous page or North/Black Contents List
