Fire Lake Vacation Cabin Image
Laurie took this photo of what we think are vacation cabins at the south end of Fire Lake. There are actually four cabins, and not everything can be seen in this view. A green house, a couple of outhouses, a remote bear cache for food, and a small float plane dock. One strange thing we found was a horse corral and we cannot figure out how they get the horses in. Maybe a trail in from the Robert Campbell Highway, which would be about 30 miles (50 km) line of sight behind those mountains behind the cabins. I doubt that they fly horses in and out. The cabins were heavily boarded for bear protection when we were there.
