The plane taking off with Dennis and John, heading for a touchdown on either Fire or North Lake. Actually, here it's taxiing out into the lake farther to get into position for a good takeoff. Pilots like to take off into the wind when they can. There's a long straight away, but the pilot has to go about a quarter mile (400 m) to get where he'd like to be.
