Sinking Ship, Above Falls

Sinking, 45kb

This was a shot by Laurie of John and Dennis on the North River a mile or so above the Falls. There had been very continuous rapids for the last two or more miles (3.2+ km), lots of wave action -- some of which are hard to avoid. Laurie and Hank stopped to bail at the bottom of one of the larger wave trains, and the green boat behind us, was as you can see, full of water. The boat in the picture above is barely visible. In fact, both John and Dennis floated out of the boat before passing us, so Hank threw a rope, Dennis caught it and everyone swung to shore just downstream. No problem, just wet clothes and Dennis lost his hat. We have another slide like this, taken a bit later in which none of the boat is visible. Laurie missed the blackmail shots of them swimming, unfortunately.
