North Lake Campsite Cook Shack
This is a view looking southwest from our North Lake campsite. The view in this picture isn't much, just us four grubby people and the hunter's cabin that we were using as a cook shack. We kept some of our food in it, the rest was scattered around camp in various places to reduce the chances of thieves (animals) from getting it all if we had a problem with that. We have not yet, despite the fact that we seldom hang food (because of a lack of suitable trees). There is a woodstove in the little cabin, but we didn't use it. We are right at the treeline and there is not a lot of firewood around. There is a camp fire ring outside the cabin that we did use some. Oh, yes -- left to right the people are John, Dennis, Laurie, and Hank. Here's a view of the inside of the Cook Shack.
