Black Lake Trapper's Cabin Image

Black Lake cabin, 49kb

The trapper's cabin on Black Lake. Jim Botti's cabin is still in pretty good shape but doesn't look to have been used for a bit. Evidence of squirrels all over inside with a good selection of Louis L'amour paperbacks. See the animal traps hanging all over the outside, a dog sled on the roof. There was also lots of general trash laying around, and a 15 Grumman aluminum canoe nearby. A bronze plaque on a nearby tree said, "In loving memory of James Botti, 1936-1989." probably installed by his widow or other family members.

The cabin is not big at all -- a one man home. Could squeeze two in for a short time. Maybe 10 by 12 or 14 feet square (3 x 4+ square meters).
