Black Lake Trapper's Cabin Image
The trapper's cabin on Black Lake. Jim Botti's cabin is still in pretty good shape but doesn't look to have been used for a bit. Evidence of squirrels all over inside with a good selection of Louis L'amour paperbacks. See the animal traps hanging all over the outside, a dog sled on the roof. There was also lots of general trash laying around, and a 15 Grumman aluminum canoe nearby. A bronze plaque on a nearby tree said, "In loving memory of James Botti, 1936-1989." probably installed by his widow or other family members. The cabin is not big at all -- a one man home. Could squeeze two in for a short time. Maybe 10 by 12 or 14 feet square (3 x 4+ square meters).
