Yukon Territory - North/Black/Liard River Canoe Trip, Area and River Trip Hot Links

Back to List of Lists

This should be most of the hot links out to other Web sites you'll find on other pages in this North/Black/Liard River section. There might also be other useful ones not listed on other pages. Sorry about any redundancy, but I figure that if you want a N/B/L related link, you know you can come to this page and find it. If you run across good links that you think should be listed here, please let me know via this hank@canoebase.com e-mail link.

General Canada Links

A government server for Canada with links to the provinces and territories:
http://www.dfait-maeci.gc.ca/english/canada/menu.htm

Tourism bureau addresses for free info on all of the provinces and territories are found on this page: http://206.191.33.50/tourism/Canada/index.html
You'll have to write for most of the useful information, until the Canadian government gets info of interest to us self sufficient wilderness traveler types up on the Web.

Here's the lowdown on the Canadian Topo Map series from the people who draw and print them:
http://www.GeoCan.NRCan.gc.ca/cti-cit/topographic.html
They don't sell them, but addresses of dealers and links to those online are found on the same server.

MILEPOST® is an indispensible guide for those driving in the general direction of Alaska, even if you never get close. Mile by mile descriptions of all the access roads in the western provinces and territories, plus services, tourist attractions, history, geology, and more.
http://www.alaskainfo.com/
Usually available at larger bookstores for about $20-25US. It is a relatively expensive book, but worth every penny if you are driving in BC, NWT, or the Yukon, and probably a requirement to get across the border into Alaska by now (a joke, but...).

ARCTIC CULTURE used to be called the Yukon Archives and hosted on a Yukon server, but has now moved and been expanded to include info from and on many northern countries, including the rest of Canada, Greenland, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Alaska and Russia. Now hosted on an American server, the URL is:
