Location: East and north of
Whitehorse.
Trip Length: Minimum of 190 miles (305
km), 230 miles (370 km) if extended to Carmacks, can be extended to Dawson
or into Alaska.
Days recommended: 11-12 or more
recommended (8 minimum).
Portages: One or more probably around a
log jam just below Big Salmon Lake.
Fly-in trip: No, can drive to Quiet
Lake.
Fly out: No, can drive to Little Salmon
and Carmacks.
Whitewater: A couple very easy rapids
(class 1+ to 2 at most water levels), lots of log and sweeper hazards.
Flatwater: Most of trip.
Current: Reasonably fast except for lakes
and a couple day section below the log jam portage.
Season: After ice-out to freeze-up.
Scenery: Very good.
Fishing: Okay
Wildlife: Some moose, caribou, bear
during salmon runs, birds, beaver, mink, marten, lynx...

Closest Airports: Whitehorse and
Carmacks, YT.
